I LOVE all the color in this home! It's so playful and somehow not overdone. Great job!

I have a kitchen very similar to yours. After living without a dishwasher for nearly a year (family of 5) I broke down and bought a full size portable dishwasher off of CL. Bonus: it doubles as a kitchen island!

Or worse, all the historic homes could be painted beige or grey.

I really enjoyed this tour! Brought back memories of my hometown, San Diego. I absolutely love the use of color, the creativity in hanging snowboards and surf mags, even the rifle over the bed is cool.

This reminds me about the acronym the birthing class I went to used to remind the moms to be about what to remember when your water breaks:

T - time
A- amount
C- color
O - odor

LOL, Frank, I'm a young person and I am probably the ONLY person my age who doesn't like flip flops. I know it's totally off subject, but yes, I hate them. Unless it's a public shower, pool or the beach. This is especially strange because I grew up in SoCal and everyone wears flip flops everywhere.

Back to the subject, I'm Asian, I don't wear shoes in my house. But my husband wears his shoes in the house unless he knows he's going to be home all day. I don't demand guests to take off their shoes. However, I think if I had carpeting in my house I would ask guests to remove their shoes because that's just really gross.

Does your kitchen window go behind the backsplash? I am wondering about that. We have a really old kitchen with low counters and a long window. I am wondering if I can replace the cabinets/counters without replacing the window?

We did something similar for our son's room. Part of his room's square footage was borrowed to make a second bath (by previous owners) which left an awkward L-shaped room and a huge closet. We built a loft in the closet that fits a twin sized mattress and there is still room under for storing toys and a dresser on the opposite wall of the closet. This leaves plenty of room for a play area in his room. Everyone who comes over says his bed nook is awesome!

LOVE the orange! Could you please tell me what it is? I also love a home tour where the owner has personal photos on the walls. Nice homey touch! Great job!

Cyclamen are great! I've had one for a year on my kitchen windowsill and it's been blooming pretty pink flowers non stop. And it only needs watering about once a week.

There's something about that room in the Olde Bell Inn that reminds me of military places I stayed with my parents abroad. Not a fan. Even with the rug and wool it still feels cold and stark.

I love our high end dishwasher! It makes virtually no noise.

Also, some "luxuries" I couldn't live without are my mattress, kitchen faucet and shower head.
