The iron I use is passed down from my mother's best friend's mother. I got it after she passed. Not sure how long she had it. It works fine, but a super-steamer machine would be *sweet*

Nicely done. It isn't my style, but I can appreciate the work! I love the big print.

Beautiful. I would have thought about replacing the casters with something else.

Wow...

What a humbling set of comments. It seems my project solicits passionate responses equally of love and hate. I know that my taste is unique, but I didn't expect to faced with such vehemence.

To answer questions: yes, the purpose of this furniture is to hide the TV. I live in a 600 sq. ft studio, and can hardly handle another huge piece of furniture. The TV is not a focal point in my life: i watch movies, news, and pbs, and I didn't want it to be displayed prominently in my apartment. Yes, sometimes odd to watch it on the ground, but I'm used to it, and prefer it to displaying the tv so it sucks up every ounce of space. It's a good solution for the size of my space.

Yes, the 'decoupage' is what I did with the top of the desk.

And the vanity chair was picked up at a yard sale for $5.

Thank you to those of you who can still appreciate this piece, though it may not be in sync with how you perceive your own style.

I'm in accord with the other commenters... perhaps if it was lit from the back or underneath, instead of just looking like a bulb stuck in a candle holder full of pins. I don't like the cord coming out of the top. Sloppy.

I also have a tiny studio with a big walk-in closet... but the problem is, the closet is filled with clothes! :D

Try your local fabric stores. Up here in Portland, OR we have Fabric depot, and they have a variety of sizes of foam, and they cut it to your specifications. Maybe you can call around local upholstery stores to see where they would go.

Nice cabin! Interesting pitch. What's interesting to me is the ghost chair in the forefront.
