The title of this post is funny to me... It makes it seem like the post is about literally using children as part of the design. ;)

Yeah, not my cup of tea. It seems more cluttered than organized, probably because there's just so much going on that it's hard to see how this stuff is organized. It's hard to know where to focus. I keeping thinking "less is more not more is more." Sorry.

I love MCM furniture but it is a little overkill in this space. I think that style works best when it's mixed in with other styles.

I don't understand that painting at all. I'm a lover of art but I think it's kind of bizarre.

The house itself looks pretty nice.

I just had my dad, sister, parents-in-law and brother-in-law for dinner last night and we all managed to fit around a table that normally accommodates me and my husband. Once we all settled in, it wasn't so bad. There were a few people who couldn't really get out once they were seated. :) It was fun and everybody seemed to be into it.

all part of the game. it's disappointing but makes the one's that you actually get even more rewarding!

Now I know what to do with that bag of walnuts that has taken up residence in my cupboard! Can't wait to go home and try it out! It better work!! ;)

THANKS FOR CLARIFYING ALYSIA. I GUESS IT JUST SEEMED TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. BUT, YOU'VE PROVEN THAT IT CAN BE DONE! CURIOUS, HOW LONG OF A PROCESS WAS IT TO GET IT TO THIS POINT IF YOU WERE MOSTLY GETTING THINGS FROM FRIENDS AND CL?

I really like this style and would live in this apartment instantly. It's very, very much my aesthetic.

But, and I say this the nicest way possible, I'm a little confused by this "recycled home challenge" since there's quite a bit of Ikea, West Elm, CB and so forth. I'm gonna assume they were all element she already had before the challenge. Maybe they were bought on Craigslist? I guess I'm unclear on if she was able to actually carry out the challenge completely or just partially.
