The Rotator Rod (that moves) by that EXACT name is for sale at HSN. And has been for some time. I don't understand why it's in this competition??

We bought 100 small appetizer plates (CB2), 50 forks (Target), almost 50 wine glasses (Target) and then rented champagne glasses. It worked out great, and we ended up keeping everything we bought to use for future entertaining.

As far as cleaning them, it was no big deal. We hired two helpers for the event (which was at our condo), and they did most of the cleanup.

I don't understand how the "rotator rod" (or rip-off of the one already for sale) qualifies...

I don't get it - HSN sells this - even the name is identical.

This would be much more compelling if the music was better. Bummer, because it's a cool concept.

I never shared food with any of my roommates. We each had our own sections of the fridge and pantry. If we wanted to share a meal (which was rare), then we'd just combine our ingredients or someone would just cook something and offer to share the result.

I think I'd have really been freaked out if a roommate wanted to have a budget and all that.

The book wasn't dull. Just this part. And I'm a big Ikea fan. I just spent 4 hours and $1200 there this weekend, last night I couldn't stop dreaming about "flipfold"-ing my laundry to put in my new PAX walk-in closet.

Although I will say that he brought it home in the end when you find out the apartment has something like 39 rooms and she's only living in 3.

I think this would be very cool if you have kids at home.

This was one of the most annoying parts of the book for me - that, and detailing product information for computers and cell phones.

This takes advance planning for movie product placement to a whole new level...

I have a nylon liner with a cotton "outside" shower curtain.

This one really inspires me!

I LOVE the layered rugs - that's definitely an idea I want to steal.

That wingback chair sent me immediately to CL - although I found nothing even remotely as wonderful.

And I love the gallery wall.

Our home is more minimal (and my husband LOVE empty counter and table surfaces), but I love your talent for accessorizing.

I grew up in a terrazzo slab house in Florida and LOVED it. But don't run (holding a glass) in socks on a freshly polished floor. And never apply a sealer - it yellows. Diamond polishing lasts nearly forever.

A real terrazzo floor is pretty much impossible to install in existing homes (and prohibitively expensive) because it's poured and polished in place.

But terrazzo tiles (or silimar-looking speckled quartz tiles) are available for about the price of any quartz. We're going to do terrazzo floors (tile) in our bathrooms.

Great for friends that want separate rooms - but I wouldn't be happy with sharing that room (bathroom in particular) with my husband. What's so wrong with WALLS?

We're staying with friends in San Francisco for a few days on our next vacation, and they've made it pretty clear that their favorite guests have left them a HUGE bottle of Patron as a gift. :) So guess what we'll be leaving them?

This has been a great post, because we're good guests, but we're not THAT good (except for the Patron part).

I'd like to know where the "inspired" womb chair is from. Online sources can be so unreliable...

I've got Therapy on my vacation itinerary for September - I just hope they have that lamp when I get there!

I am so jealous of that amorphic wood/root coffee table. I saved a picture of that room and went wild googling - and found nothing comparable. Plus, the prices were staggering for pieces that were nowhere near as gorgeous.

Jealousy. I has it.

I kind of like them folded and stacked like the picture on a chair or maybe a trunk - and then I'd swap the top one every couple of days or weeks so that you could see a little more of it.

I also think that one quilt, draped more symmetrically over the back of a sofa (if it's floating in the room) or chair could look nice in a modern home.

Our style is pretty much MCM, but I've been jonesing for a quilt lately myself.
