Well my project is almost done and it is fabulous; I hope that in a few weeks I can post some photos of the work that Anthony and his team did in my apartment. From start to finish the work was professional and beautifully done.

just finished my first workout at my "new" gym, on the West Side Hwy. I walked home noting how absolutely perfect the weather was (I now call these perfect days 911 days) Went inside and put the radio on; the radio immedaitely went off the air (antenna on WTC) so i flipped on TV to see the giant hole in the first tower hit. I grabbed my camera and radio and went outside in the west village. I recall that when the second plane hit, from my vantage point I saw only the large fireball, and I was so curious about how the fire in the first tower had ignited the second. Then I heard about the second plane. Surreal. In the days following we were a car free zone (below 14th street). People were walking around and sitting at cafes. It was uncomfortable to feel that you were "enjoying" a beautiful day, given the loss of life. I felt guilty for being alive and outside. I called my mother to ask how, after Pearl Harbor, they were able to "enjoy" a day. She said they "just did it."

The floors are done and they are beautiful. Vince Clementi of Clementi's Custom Wood Floors did a great job repairing the defects from an old radiator I had removed and a few holes from an old Murphy Bed. He then did a custom stain that is light and warm, and different from everyone else's. He came when he said he would and was done when promised. On top of that he is a really nice guy.

I am currently close to the end of my complete bathroom renovation for which I used Anthony Riccio and his team and I can say that it has been a wonderful experience; the bathroom was a gut renovation of my prewar West Village bathroom and I now have beautiful floor to ceiling tile, dropped ceiling with recessed lighting, and fantastic fixtures, as suggested by Anthony. There were some plumbing issues related to the age of the building but Anthony and his crew handled it all beautifully and got raves from the building's crew and manager. The tile was purchased from Bella tile at Anthony's suggestion, and they could not have been nicer to work with. In addition, Anthony put me in touch with Melissa at Smolka plumbing supply. Melissa helped me with the fixture selection, got me a really good price on everything and it was all ordered and ready to go when she promised it would be. I was going to stop with the bathroom but found that I really trust and like Anthony and his crew, so they are now completing skim coating and painting, and referred me to a flooring refinisher who will start on Tuesday. I will definitely report back once that is done, but I know that it will be great because everything that Anthony has suggested so far has worked out. I found him to be totally accessible, he calls back and shows up when he says he will, and his fees are fair and reasonable given the high quality work.

Anthony is honest and tells it like it is. I know I already said it but I trust him all the way. I can't stop thinking of Murphy Brown (the late 1980's sit com) and Eldin her painter who never left; I don't want Anthony and his crew to leave, they are that good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!! I will update you on the floors once they are done.
