This is to everyone who is understandably concerned about fire...Fire is a minor concern with these kinds of lights. The paper might scorch but there just isn't enough energy generated by one of these bulbs to cause it to burst into flames. If there was you couldn't safely use them on a tree . You don't mention if you own or rent, which can make a big difference, as can your budget. However, I have one idea you should check out..I just borrowed this book--200 Small Apartment Ideas-- by Chistina Parades Benitez- (Publisher-Firefly Books) from my local library. It was just published this year and is a treasure trove of beautiful pictures of modern apartments from all over the world. It is written from both a design and an architectural perspective and many of the ideas would only be possible if you owned your place. Nevertheless, it will give you lots of inspiration...Good luck!! PS The book would also make a fabulous holiday gift!! Ideas for Large Live/Work/Sleep Room? Good Questions |

All of these comments are great-much better than the rather ho hum suggestions in the article, I've got to say. The only idea I take issue with is the humidifer..because higher humidity in the winter will make your home feel COLDER not warm. Where did you get the drapes? They appear to be a mauve-y grey...am I right? I'm looking for something similar for my bedroom, which is also a mauve/grey but darker and pink with some silver and green highlights.. Emily's "Memphis Blues" RoomRoom for Color Contest |

Special thanks to you for these links and ideas..I am definitely more into the Nantucket style vs lush tropical or Mediterranean Although I love some of the Mediterranean and even Moroccan inspired wallpapers and accessories I have seen lately I think you need a little bit more space than I have here to pull off that particular look.Sigh..maybe some day:>). Since this is a "color" contest..I would like to know which green is truly representative of the kitchen.. The color that I see in your photos does look muted but seems to fit much better with your palette and the industrial look than the swatch color. Mortified?? Why? dog butts are cute and supposed to be exposed. Now if that were your hubby's butt it would be reason for mortification! LOL Kelly's "Boathouse Vintage" Kitchen Room for Color Contest |

A garbage bag that costs $3.99? At a bag a day that's $120/month to throw out your trash! No thank you!! As a cat owner who hates having the pooper-scooper visible in the bathroom, however, I might invest in the OSH "Scoopy" thing if it's made well. It's kinda cute 10 Life Enhancing Home Items Under $25 |

These images are incredible . Some of them are shocking-like the woman being carried against her will (it appears) into a car..Who is she? What is happening to her? Is it a rape or a rescue? That's what these images do for me..Make me wonder about what's going on. Accidental Photobombs: The Nine Eyes of Google Street View |

I have been mulling over what to do with my micro-mini bathroom/dressing room for months..I was thinking about wallpaper but since it's a rental I decided against it and have been considering wide stripes. I wasn't sure how it would look, though..so I was very happy to see them in action here..I'm ecstatic! They look just perfect and now I can enter into my project without a second thought. @bijou33-I think it's hysterical that someone actually agreed with you!! Just goes to show that there's something for everyone in this world. As for this piece, I really don't get what all the raves are about; I've seen far, far better restorations in these pages and many others on line. It WAS a valiant effort to make something nice from something that was truly frightful to look at. But beyond that it's rather ho-hum... I would have liked it 100x better without the flower and with some really special hardware instead. Before & After: Rescuing a Dumpster Dive Dresser Art is Beauty |

I think Rucy got it right..Maybe it's your lighting in the picture but I think a very muted aqua would be lost against the tan, which appears quite dark to me. I would definitely lose the cabinet to the right (my view) above the table; it looks weird and out of place. I can relate to Longorious' post..Living in an apartment is often very transitory and decorating can lead to asking yourself a lot of "what ifs?" But as a long time apartment dweller I have begun, finally, to let go of that thinking and decorate for NOW. I want an apartment I can love today no matter what tomorrow may bring. Of course, if you know you only have a six month sublet you will make different decisions than if you just signed a two year lease. But it's silly to play it safe just because you MIGHT have to move.
