I've had the ATV2 running XBMC for a week also, but found it to stream perfectly with no instances of buffering at all running over wireless - I think the wirelss 'N' protocol the device uses helps this a lot.. check out the XBMC.org forums for some updates on more bug fixes they are working through currently - next release doesn't seem far away at all.
