Pretty room! My daughter is also named Emmeline, you are the only other one I've encountered. Great taste! (:

This is really cute. I'm normally not a cat person but I think they are adorable with the polka dots. Did you use polka dot fabric on the back as well?

I love this! I have kids though and am not sure it would be safe to put glass on top of the coffee table, how easily would it slide off?

Great idea! Like Sarahrae I first thought of doing this for a headboard. Thanks for the tutorial!

I love the kitchen! I especially like the shelf that holds the plates & the glass case for the cups.

I like the clothes hanging on the side too. I think that would work in my daughter's closet and would save me a ton of space.

I think those are so so so adorable! This project is very inspring. I'm always searching for things for my home that are multi-purpose and I would definitely put these in this category. Job VERY well done!

I agree with JV. I love chandeliers and would put them in every room if my husband would allow it. So far I have one in the kitchen & the master bedroom.
I think this bathroom is to die for.

We used a ring that sat on top of the toliet. My personal opinion is this...if I am going to potty train my child & no longer change diapers then why would I want to bother cleaning out a potty seat? Yuck! Also, wouldn't you just have to train them again to sit on the "big" toliet?
We really liked using the potty ring, the one disadvantage was that my daughter was afraid of public restrooms because they didn't have the ring. I had to lug it around in a bag for about 9 months. With my youngest daughter I'm going to "try" training her with nothing, but we'll use the ring again if we must.

I don't really fit the demographic of those in the article (28 year old mother of 2), but I relate most to the last couple. I refuse to let my house be overrun by my children's toys. They are welcome to play in our main living area but no toys or baby items are stationary there. As for babyproofing, the only thing we've ever done is pop on the outlet covers.
I think decorating style has big impact on this though. Many of our purchases are from antique stores, so if my children add a scratch...no biggie. My aim is for comfort & beauty in my house, not necessarily a pristine look.
One of the best compliments I've received was when a friend's husband walked in and said "It doesn't look like they have kids."

Caliin-This brand of paint dries to the touch pretty quickly. I think you can flip it within 15 min-1/2 hour of coating. We just layed it out on cardboard in the garage to do it. You may need to sand a bit if you get any drips.
Unfortunately this paint is pretty smelly. We brought it into our room soon after it dried and that was probably a mistake as I smelled paint for near 2 weeks. I'd leave it out of the house as long as possible.

arza-I agree on both counts. I have already added a 2nd pillow, I was waiting for more fabric.

The chandelier is from PBTeen. I just checked the site though and I don't think it's available any longer. :(
As for the quilt, in person it doesn't match. It has more true blues in it.
Thanks for the comments!
