Great towel hooks. Love the red against white. I agree with jen_g about good use of magnetic spice holder.

I LOVE the triple shelves with caster (?). That's exactly what I need!

I can only moan in longing. Why couldn't they open that in Portland?? Not that I haven't already bought way too many trees and other plants. Wait, you can never have enough plants.

Reminds me of old golf pants from the 60's or 70's.

My absolute favorite tea! I've tried many different brands but Mariage Freres is the best. Their English website has been under construction for many years. :( I've been getting mine from Williams Sonoma but I'd like to branch out and try some of the others. Does anyone know which retailer carries them in Portland, OR?

So glad to see you guys posted about this product. I first saw it on drugstore.com website but was hesitant to buy without a review by consumers. I'll definitely try it now.

Awesome! The garden looks so pretty. I love how she lined the other planter box (with bigger gaps between slats) with burlap so the soil is stays inside. Love her creativity!

My mom's had Whirlpool Duet when they first came out many years ago. She really wanted Miele like my aunt's but wasn't readily available in US at the time and we would've had to rewire to European spec., ie way too much hassle. With 4 women in the house, our washing machine was a work horse. This was before HE soaps and we've never had mold or mildew problems. Never even thought to leave the door open to dry. Absolutely love that machine. Last year when my husband and I bought our house, I researched for front load washers now that there are so many options. We got the LG steam washer and we love it. I did run across articles about people having mold problems so I usually leave the door open more as a prevention and haven't had any problem. It also has drum clean feature (only used it once) you can use with bleach. It seems many people haven't read their manuals (highly recommend! it is afterall an investment) or talked to the salesperson enough. From my decade plus experience with the front loaders, I can't say enough good things about these machines.

We are so so lucky and blessed in our neighborhood. We know pretty much everyone on our street. We live in a new subdivision and it helps that there are only 50 houses instead of 300 like you see normally in others. I think it also helped that most of us moved around same period and since we are all new, we wanted to get to know each other. I'm normally shy but my husband is one of those very gregarious, make friends with everyone type of person so we just started introducing ourselves to our neighbors. When the weather's nice (even when it's not) we've been out working on our yard and we have neighbors bringing us beer! We threw a 4th of July and Labor Day bonfire party last year and now we are "obligated" to have one every year. :) We've gone to our neighbors' Christmas parties, birthday parties, invited to dinner and cocktails, etc. We haven't had this busy social life since college days. We love living here and we've made some wonderful friends.

I'm also jealous of your prolific lemon tree! I really miss our old lemon tree in our home in CA. One of the first thing I did after moving to WA was getting a meyer lemon and pink lemon tree. They didn't do too well (fruit kept dropping) in the beginning but they are sloooowly developing fruit. I'm waiting for the temperature to stay above 40 deg at night so I can put them outside on the patio. I can't wait to get my hands on some fresh lemons! :) Both your dogs are so adorable.

We love Costco. They are a very responsible company in many ways, which Matilda and others mentioned. From what I've read they are really good to their employees. They have quality products at great prices and support local companies.

Btw, I love the curio cabinet in the picture. Maple leaves with propeller seed pods etched (?) on the glass is very cool touch. Anyone know who carries it or something similar?
