I can't believe so many people like the before. Not that the kitchen before was dreadful, but it certainly lacked personality.

The after is great! I loved the fact you dropped down the breakfast bar and made the two counters one. It must open up the space so much more. On the other side of the counter is there a living room? Dining room?

I also have a thing for white counters. They seem somewhat impractical, but it always seems to make a kitchen look larger and brighter.
I also love the new sink and back splash, Kudos!

Gosh, I know it's a small space, but it doesn't feel small at all! It seems so open and airy. You two definetly made the most with what you had. It looks great!

The whole house is beautiful!!! I love all the colors and I really, really, really love that patio! It almost looks like something from a movie. Liz, I think the table in the patio is smashing!

Okay, so I’m not completely anti the suitcase stacking. It is ‘visual clutter’ as modernist1 said. But that works for some people. I do think photo 2 is a little over the top. Forget about a safety risk, but I would have to use the bottom suitcase as a time capsule, because I’d probably only open it every 20 years or so. But that’s just me and I’m super lazy!

I think the photo 3 is way more practical. In fact, if I could find a cute suit case (like a nice vintage Louis Vuitton) I’d put all my yarn in it. Currently my yarn has over taken my Bookcases and my books are homeless. It’s a sad sight.
