We have a small apartment so we used Ikea changing pad (with inflatable sides) on top of washing machine. Works fine with second, as it worked with the first one :)
Height is just as it should be, we're in the bathroom where all the action is taking place, and necessary stuff (cloth diapers, some clothes) are stuffed in on shelves and in handmade organizer. Picture here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/15749632@N07/3304196223/in/set-72157614353034116

In the evening fill your machine with dirty clothes, allow it to take up detergent and all the water it needs, and to roll a drum a couple of times. This is necessary to dissolve and equally distribute the detergent.
Press OFF button and go to sleep.
In the morning, press ON button, and wash your clothes as usual. Soaking in water and detergent over night will remove stubborn stains. I also second the hand washing dish detergent tip for stain removing.

At first - money, 'couse stuff I wanted to wear were really expensive. Also, the size of clothes. I'm taller than that imaginary person to whom they fit all the clothes sold in stores, so I always come up short with sleeves and trousers. Even if I could afford a certain piece, it usually won't fit me properly. So I learned to sew, knit, crochet... and ended up with paying extra only for shoes. My fins can fit only in the pricey ones, and I don't find it necessary to learn to make shoes too ;-)
In that "girly" set of skills creeped in the other ones. The ones involving the power tools, brushes, paints etc. A girl should know how to do things on her own :-)
Than, there is that proud feeling that comes with "I made that"
Also, the "I recycled/repurposed that" with a glowing smile, 'couse I'm the Earth loving soul
And, of course, that special feeling when you sell something you made
Now I'm doing DIY mostly for the kids. They really appreciate all the effort, and nothing can fuel me more than wide open eyes, big smile and thank-you kiss from my little ones

window seat is something I would love to have
unfortunately we have a big radiator below every single window in our home occupying every inch of beneath-the window space :-(
but I could dream of one to build in my dream home some day ...

I have a unusual name, and I never liked it. Fortunately there's a nickname that I do love, and everyone call me by. My real name is reserved for paperwork and doctor's appointments.
Kids got names without diacritic marks - they are common here, and are usually forgotten or misspelled when you go elsewhere - to spare them the mispronunciation and misspelling. They already have them more than enough in a long and uncommon last name.
Names themselves are traditional and simple, therefore "forgotten" and unusual in a flood of really unusual names that we witness now. She shares a name with a queen of ancient times, and he shares his with a mountain.

We used cloth with our first, and now, with second also. He inherited some of the diapers from his sister, and they are still great. Almost all of our diapers are home made by me. So this, and not ever buying disposables made our choice a economic one. But money was not a reason at all. I'm allergic to disposable pads, and I use cloth myself. That made cloth diapering the only option in my head while expecting. We don't have fitted cloth diapers here, all I knew were traditional flat diapers. I newer knew any other kind until I googled for all the ways to fold a flat diaper. I instantly got hooked to fitteds, and made a whole bunch. PUL covers were bought online and we manage(d) really fine with 25 fitteds and two covers in appropriate size. Washing was never a problem, two or three extra loads a week. Stinking is dealt with by keeping used diapers inside washing machine. When it fills up, it's time to do the laundry ;-)

I live in Europe, and as a crafter myself, I shop on Etsy primarily for supplies. I had several non-delivered items. For two of them I never had a reply from a seller on my repeated inquires about my purchased items. Eventually both shops were closed without explanation. It was not a big financial issue, but I wanted those trinkets!
Some other sellers were very kind. When packages didn't arrive, they kindly sent other shipment with the same/similar product on their own cost, or refunded the money.
I have some problems with people stating the "everywhere else" shipping, and then, after I pay for items, contacting me that they don't ship overseas. They all refunded me the money, but I really, really, REALLY hate when that happens. (not to mention that I'm loosing money with each transaction, due to currency conversion).
On the other hand, some sellers that stated ridiculously small shipping for the rest of the world, sent me my purchase on their own loss. When package arrives, I always check shipping cost, and refund the difference via PayPal. I think it's fair, those people sell things for a living.

I have one round tile, with tulips (thank you for the explanation!) intricate blue/orange design. I got it as a present from my brother. When he went to Turkey, he asked what I want to bring me. I said - something unique and recognizable :)

I think "legos" might be some locking mechanism to prevent opening the drawers by little kids (of course, I may be totally wrong)

Don't like shabby chic and distressing, but I'm a huge fan of salvaging old furniture, so big like from me

stroller - they like to be carried
pacifier - the right stuff is the right stuff, pacifier just isn't, and they know it :-)
travel bed - used it once, luckily it was borrowed (and returned)
viper (or, as you call it here - bouncy chair) - it provoked inconsolable crying for no apparent reason - floor was always a better solution

and one more thing, babies don't need to be taught to sit, stand or walk, they just need a firm surface to practice, and they will sit/stand up/walk when they are ready to do it

too much stuff, room is cluttered with things adults think kids will love, like that weird card catalog

it is also a very dangerous room - hanging anything near a child bed, let alone above it is irresponsible

I don't like cradles, but, you did a good job in that small space you had
And yes, all clothes up to six months could be tucked in that dresser

Too much black for my taste.
Especially the black storage containers on the shelf. They make the space even smaller than it already is.
