Dill pickle is a great color - especially in rooms with lots of light like this one. I used in my bedroom in my last apartment and it was lovely to come home to. very soothing and accents your art well.

I'm from Oak Park, IL, where Wright's studio and many of his Prairie style homes are, so I grew up walking by and sometimes going in those homes or their mimics. I really love these Usonians and their functionality with nature and light-- two of Wright's best design qualities, IMO. His later works seem so much more integrated with their surroundings and time.

I've made that banana split bombe and, let me tell you, it is the best desert ever. lots of work but totally worth it.

I have the 7.25qt round le creuset french oven in dijon. It's the best thing that's ever happened to my kitchen. I toyed with the idea of the 5.5qt but honestly, the 7.25 has proven much more versitle because it can cook larger meals or soups AND cook smaller recipes FASTER because of the surface area. Definitely worth the size increase. And I got mine at the Le Creuset outlet store (look one up! chances are there's one near enough to you to be worth the trip) and it was less than $200.

Just about every sandwich at Grey Dog in Manhattan (all of them) is worth mentioning. Bahn-mi from Nicky's in the LES. a Thanksgiving-esque wrap in Provincetown that had stuffing, cranberry sauce, the works. the italian sub back home at Alpine Foods and the italian beef (juicy, hot peppers) in Elmwood Park, IL (SERIOUSLY). And, I have to say, I love the pork, cabbage and jalapeno sandwich with horseradish from 'wichcraft.

on second thought, sandwiches might be my favorite kind of food...
