Sounds like you might have gotten it too hot and the oil polymerized in a big mess on the bottom. You could try using some oven cleaner to remove the sticky stuff. I had a similar problem while trying to season a cast iron pan, where I ended up with a big stick puddle of burnt oil. Some lye-based oven cleaner took all it off... although I had to re-season the pan. Help! Did I Ruin My New Carbon Steel Wok? Good Questions |

I use the exact same grinder to grind my spices! Works like a charm for everything I throw into it: cumin, star anise, cinnamon (even the thicker bark pieces). It doesn't grind mustard seed to that superfine, mustard flour like Coleman's. Besides that it's great. They're usually under $20 so the price is right too. @loveyhowell @accidentalvermonter Vinegar is an acid (acetic acid), and bleach is an alkaline (sodium hypochlorite). After bleaching the pot out and rinsing well, you can use some vinegar to remove the remaining bleach. The trace amounts of bleach residue won't be enough to make any appreciable amount of chlorine gas. Copious amounts of water would be the best bet though.
