This seems unsafe to me, not to mention unsightly. Lexan or plexiglass (ideally screwed or wedged into the frame) would be a much better and more secure solution. My dad put in Lexan for me, and we sanded the surface for a frosted look so that added to the privacy factor. Wood is certainly safer than cardboard, and I think Home Depot will cut small pieces for a fee. A glass seller could probably also cut the Lexan for you, if need be.

You know what? In a way, this is great. Because this way, no one will have a quick, easily accessible window to all the best stuff on Craigslist. So more good stuff for me if I go sort through Craigslist myself. Moo ha ha!

All sarcasm aside, this is just as useful as adding Austin, Texas to the Los Angeles section of Apartment Therapy. Which is to say, completely useless, totally annoying, and absolutely inexplicable. You want to cover other cities, separate them out and do it, but don't clutter up my city's area. Isn't AT supposed to be about LESS clutter?

Maybe if Austin gets another blogger, the Austin folk could move to their own subheading, and out of LA.

Sort silverware on its way into the dishwasher, then you don't have to sort it on its way to the drawer.

I once visited a house in which "real" art hung. This person owned a Picasso for the living room, a Rembrandt for the bedroom, a Warhol for the hallway, and that only begins to scratch the surface of the museum quality work that hung in the house. She had us over for a potluck to which she contributed nary a dish, glared at us when we tried to look through some of her many art kaleidoscopes that were laid out invitingly on a coffee table, and invited us to look through the art on her walls. So of course, we wandered around VERY quietly in the museum of her own making. I found a tiny photograph of a daughter she'd never mentioned in a corner in her study and thought it was the saddest and most telling thing she owned.

Regardless of what anyone may think, I'll display my family photos all over the house and let the ice queen have her perfect decor and her museum quality artwork. And maybe, I'll put "All You Need is Love" on the stereo just for that extra corny effect that the ice queen will always wish she knew how to achieve.

The only way I can think of to make this work would be to pour cold water into the holes in the geodes so that the wax wouldn't stick there. Looks like a mess to me, otherwise.
