Johanna: "The biggest challenge was reconciling my obsession with minimalism with my boyfriend's need to have his entire collection......within arm's reach."

Me, too. We are about to add 20 feet of extra storage space!

I wish someone would write a book on apartment therapy for "clashing styles."

The luscious color seems to flow, helping the space feel larger. I can imagine how wonderful it is at sunset.

I love: the green color, the art, the textiles, the combination of patterns, the use of curtains and mirrors, the beaded valance, the recessed TV, the sofa/bed , the lamps --- and how it all comes together --- the atmosphere. Also like the space itself: the asymmetry and angles. What is the pattern on the pleated wall by the window--- light reflection?

Refrigerator envy, didn't expect that, or doors as art. Stylish and gorgeous.

I see popular trends, but it looks so original - and fabulous. Doubly impressed about the DIY. The couch is brilliant.

Sorry, Julia, I was kidding (after being up all night). It is no wonder that the beauty of your home is much admired.

Now I'm homesick.

That large painting really works! (At first I thought it was a huge cool mirror.) Are you the artist?

Love your "rug" and "chandelier." Inspired to try my father's attache case for displaying family memorabilia.

Naturally the cat picked the perfect setting to show off her colors. She would also look very photogenic in the window by the checkered table!

Blue Adidas: Maybe Julia is the CEO of Garnet Hill and made all her employees vote for her.

mailmann: Obviously he's too shy to have a social network.

Effective touches of red --- especially the two-tone column, very artful, and it draws the eye to the view outside that seems like an extension of the apartment's clean lines.

I can see why the book club likes to meet there.

Everything you love about your home, I love it too. Also, the color seems very well balanced; the small bit of red wallpaper is perfect. Even your floor plan is pretty.

Ruthlessly well edited! Every single item works (including the shopping bag). Everything belongs together.

I love that there's space for a sunroom in a small flat. I love the overhead arches (perfect for a train station theme). And you made it even better! Witty and delightful.

You really transformed the humble lockers into a highlight. The book wall must be copied. Is there a story for that huge mirror, and is the reflected train schedule written by you on a blackboard?

I like your outfit. too. ;)

The yummy chocolate color is so right for a sleep area, while it does seem to make the wall recede when seen from the play area. Ditto to brilliant, best Ikea hack ever, full Tour please.
