Two months ago I picked up a couple of poster frames at Hobby Lobby for $15 for both. They were having a 50% off sale, so I guess the regular price for the 18x24 size is $15 dollars. They look like the k-mart ones you posted.

If you buy a hot dog at a stand in northern mexico( i live in Cd. Juarez) it will most likely come wrapped in bacon. They fry the frank with the bacon, and for topings they have beans, onion, tomato, nacho cheese(!) relish, mayo, and of course mustard and ketchup, you can add salsa if you want it spicy (i always do). It's one of the best things to eat after going out.

I am looking for a good recipe for pickling jalapenos, does anyone have one? I'd like to make them with lots of carrots and maybe some jicama fruit.

Those white PS cabinets really look great. And you're right, I'd rather have a bright room with lots of natural light and curtains, than no light at all.

I also think that director's chair could get uncomfortable afer a while. It looks great though! (Her dining room is also very nice)

Great Idea! Except you need to have a flat panel tv and not all of us have upgraded yet.

A good way to eat tuna is in quesadillas. A lot of seafood restaurants here in mexico serve marlin quesadillas and this is a variation that my sister came up with, just cook some onion, tomato and jalapeno in a skillet, then add the tuna, make some quesadillas and fill them with the tuna mix before the cheese is completely melted, it's surprisingly good.

I made barbacoa this weekend from a recipe I got from my mother in law. It was basically just putting the meat in the slow cooker with aromatic herbs and salt. It didn't come out as good as the one she makes, and boy was it greasy, but it was ok for a first try at it.

I have been thinking about pozole recently, but i don't have time or know how to make the kind my mom makes, she uses both chicken and pork, and makes it in a pressure cooker. This recipe is definetely something I could try.

We've decide to try out a couple of recipes we saw on tv this weekend :

http://www.pbs.org/everydayfood/recipes/pork_tenderloin_apples_onions.html
http://www.pbs.org/everydayfood/recipes/shrimp_and_tomatoes_over_polenta.html
http://www.pbs.org/everydayfood/recipes/broiled_polenta_mushroom_ragout.html

Pretty simple but it will work to get us out of our routine.

I couldn't find the pork tenderloin at our local supermarket here in Mexico though...I don't know what cut to ask for in Spanish.

I really need to get something like this as I don't really have anything to serve snacks in and end up using my tupperware to set them out when we have people over. These are very good options.

I would never make a michelada with dark beer, those beers should be drunk by themselves. You can also add a little bit of tomato and clam juice.

Wow, this sounds great, I wish my crock pot had a timer so it can turn to warm on those days when I get home late from work.

I was also going to say chilaquiles, with chicken and green chile sauce, it is actually a dish that is supposed to use stale or old tortillas and/or chips.
