I agree that one should aspire and save for quality furniture that can stand the test of a family that loves it.

I must say that I absolutely love posts about reusing everyday materials for the home accents like art, lamps, finishes, ect. Those are the post that inspire me and get my creative drive going.

I love the variety here though. Something for everyone means future posts and more inspiration to come.

Thank you Re-Nest!

I too use the baking soda for some clean ups, but I recently got one of those over liners which is heaven sent (http://www.kitchencollection.com/Temp_Products.cfm?sku=00236541). You can pick one up at most kitchen stores or wal-mart/target. Seriously with everything else that needs cleaning who wants to put their head in an oven?

Virgin Printing Paper - Keep a file of the paper that has print on one side only instead of tossing it. Use the blank side of your scratch paper to print notes, maps, coupons, ect. I do this at the office and home and my recycle been hardly ever has paper in it. I am still amazed at how little is thrown out now.

I also love cloth napkins! They hold up so much better with messy foods than paper and if you get a dark color for everyday like navy blue you really don't see the stains.

I am still waiting for the day when cereal and such comes in reusable containers and after the initial purchase you pay by weight. Hear that GM, get on it!

How about a large print stencil or large piece of art with a few choice glass bottles to "frame it" and give it depth. You don't tend to see the dust on the glass and all you need to do is rinse and dry to get rid of dust on the glass every once in a while.

You could even make a small drawstring bag out of the sleeves to stuff the tote into and slip it into your purse. You could then sew the sleeve bag into the inside of the tote like the Chico Bags!

Susannah from The Daily Biscuit, I would love to try the putty you speak of. Could you provide a link or the name of the store you purchased it from? Thank you!

You could pick up a couple of different sized pieces of wood, build a frame, cover the frame with material or an appropriate paper and hang with 3m picture hanging Velcro.

Easiest, cheapest, and fastest way is with color. Choose a fabric you absolutely LOVE cover the bulletin board and pull colors from it for accessories. A vase or bowl is a great, cheep way to add color to a dinning table. Maybe a few candles. Then if you have left over fabric try framing it and placing your favorite recipes, crazy kitchen utensil or something fun on top of the fabric in the frame.
