I had a HUGE set of Lego's as a kid (including a couple girl faces ((had red lips and eyelashes)) and long hairstyles) and loved creating adventures and wild stories. I certainly wouldn't have my 'characters' sit at a salon or poolside (Blech. How boring), I had my Polly Pockets for that. Now there would be no distinction.

I don't think this set is necessarily pushing girls into playing with them, but if they do, it's severely limiting and stereotyped! I'm also afraid that with this set on the market, 'regular' Lego's will be aimed even further towards boys and really get away from being gender neutral. Such a shame.

Please, oh please, where did you find the sheet and blankets? I too am centering our nursery around curtains and have had huge problems finding bedding to coordinate.

(ps) We are also getting the Olivia crib... looks fantastic and is very child/decor/eco friendly!

Great designs, but truthfully could design and print these easily on your own (also allowing even more creativity!). Even if you don't have a decent printer at your house, a quick trip to Kinko's (or similar) will yield a decent print for a few bucks.

Love love love this room. We too are Craigslist scourers and thrift/antique shop junkies. Haven't put together all the pieces for our nursery yet (twins expected in July!) but I'm definitely hoping for a similar vibe and style. Great room for such a cute kid!

This is such a fantastic idea. Can't wait until my kids (twins) are old enough. Maybe I'll do the same drawing and story starter for each and see how different they are when they get back to me!

I think that 'Something to instill creativity', although a mix between 'Something to question' and 'Something to take pride in', is so very important. A chalkboard wall is great, or perhaps an art easel with paint or space set aside for clay creations; anything to get their creative juices flowing!
