There are themes. Desks are given male names from Sweden. Carpets are Norwegian places and so on. Scandinavian languages are very similar (almost like dialects) so it's all more or less pronunced the same anyway.

IKEA is pronunced: "ea" as in "eager", k, "ea" as in "fear", and "a" as in the end of any english name "Leia" f.e. The stress should be like the Beach Boys singing "Aruba".

Oh, and I used the Kvartal system by IKEA. It was easier than I thought to drill in the ceiling and put up the whole thing.

In the twenties doors often had panels. I think you should look at your windows and the wooden beams holding the roof above the door for inspiration.

A natural wooden door would best match the roof/ceiling above the door.

Possibly the best house call I've seen here on AT. I'd love to see a full tour of your home. This is so practical and lovely with a great sense for colour.

I would have prefered to stay in the "before". Perhaps with an added curtain.

Beddinge Sofa bed from Ikea is really comfortable and doubles as a guest bed. According to their US site the package is 29 7/8" * 4 7/8".

I'm looking to buy it myself so my mother have somewhere to sleep that won't hurt her back when she visits. And make a cover in black or navy linen

I have neither. But we do share a laundry room with the rest of the apartment building that we book for three an a half hours about once a week. No coins needed.

When I was very young all we got to draw with were crayons. Later on we got pens, when we were old enough to understand that they were only to be used on paper/drawingbooks. I also suspect there was a period when colours were taken out when we wanted to paint and hidden away afterwards. Even though we had our own kids table I remember being scolded for drawing on it instead of on the paper and that one line is still there - hardly noticeable.

If the kids love colour I can recommend bathtub-crayons. Put them in a bath with some water and let them draw on themselves or eachother to their hearts delight. It all washes off!

Like this a lot! That said, why have a child's tricyckle take up space? And why, why have portraits with people staring at you in bed? These are also next to the TV so I bet they draw attention from the screen. I just would not be able to relax when there are eyes (albeit painted) watching me.
