Over the past year, I've purchased multiple pillows (Faux/Suede Linen Pillows) and a side table (no longer in production) from West Elm. The pillow inserts and covers are surprisingly high quality and look great on my IKEA Karlstad sofa. It's true that the coffee table is made from particleboard and required assembly, but after about six months it still looks brand new.

I've received excellent customer service at the Columbus, Ohio, West Elm store. Those pillows I mentioned? $10 each, normally $40, because they were incorrectly marked. The salesperson noticed, even though I didn't, and honored the erroneous price tag. I was impressed. And the side table? I purchased it on sale with a holiday "family and friends" discount, so while it was regularly priced at $100, I paid $64 or 20% off a 20% off sale price.

Every week, West Elm will have a different category of products on sale for 20% off. Like clockwork. Just know what to expect (reasonable sales prices and assembly required particleboard), wait for a sale, and don't buy it without seeing it first in the store.
