found it! the litterbox, that is. 12th photo down on the Yatzer page. Slightly right of center.

And it's a gorgeous, gorgeous place that is both cat friendly and interesting.

my in-laws have 2 twin beds shoved together to make a king-sized bed. Mother-in-law no longer feels the constant movement of father-in-law. Sanity restored.
We have a Simmons mattress, and it's made a world of difference! I no longer want to sedate my husband to make him stop moving. The "motion separation" isn't as full as for separate beds, but darn it's great.

I can only imagine what it must have looked like, based on the general aesthetic of the area! I think it looks cozy and more tied together without going ultra-modern and rehabbed! Plus, that kitchen is the weirdest thing ever, and so I love it.

In my house, those would dry up quickly--we're super dry with the heat on often.
If I had space, I'd love to do this with our bags of river rocks!

why so angry?
The rooms are great showcases for changing a really boring place into a dramatic room worthy of its building. They're also *showrooms*, hence how they look unlived-in, in the same large house.
I don't love everything about them, but really dig the drama that will last *way* longer than those red walls in the bedroom! Plus, I'd love to sleep in that guest room because you won't get the sun in your face on vacation!

Rip it up, redo the flooring. Anything you can do with it is negated by how it just sucks up space!

My parents ripped out their planter, and replaced the foyer flooring with real tile (all DIY) and it's 8000% better!

we have a combo of random internet loss & moderate to poor cell reception in our apartment. We only have the most basic landline package right now, and only use it to place locals or receive calls.
Plus last time my husband called 911, from a nearby restaurant, his cell phone dropped the call halfway through. Nice.

we have rolling 2 drawers from Ikea, a dumbbell, and a towel for the cat who loves her hiding place. We put air mattresses, all sheets, and some seasonal/camping clothes in the drawers.

Otherwise I do prefer to be able to shove the drawers away & sweep under the bed easily. Having hardwood floors makes underbed storage much cleaner, I think.

the color palette looks like something sucked the life out of the world. it's making my eyes bleed.

that said, very cool idea & I dig the small space.

Dingy whites sometimes benefit from an extra rinse cycle, or using less detergent. According to either Real Simple or Consumer Reports, the brightening agents in non-bleach whitening detergents can build up and turn bright whites to grays. Won't help stains, but it did give me brighter t-shirts and socks!

Count me in on hating the dust & grease. It works if you use the items often and need the storage space, but it's a pain as decoration-only.

Check out their blog--the transformations in the whole house are great! Quite a DIY project. It's amazing how much the dark-painted trim dulled each room.

I was actually thinking the magazine rack as shoe holder is a brilliant place to keep slippers! We always take our shoes off first thing and it would be a cute way to have our slippers ready.
And if only my desk *ever* got that organized, seriously.

I adore open shelving, and use it in my kitchen. BUT never again...the dust is unbelievable! HazelStone said it--dust and grease. I'm constantly wiping both the shelves and less-frequently used pieces. Glassware? Nightmare.
