unless you absolutely want the look of wood. ...IMHO the only time it ever seems worth the trouble to strip and refinish old furniture, is when you are dealing with solid wood, minus wood veneer. Also determine the type of wood first, including the veneer surface.

The faux concrete wall look can be done. I've seen it at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA. 75% of the bathroom had faux concrete. I could tell because the walls sounded hollow when knocked on, and you could see the clayboard peeking out from where a guest knocked of a corner of the wall near the floor.

although, I have no idea how it was accomplished, but the look was pretty authentic looking.

I ordered Cole & Sons "Woods" from Sanderson Interiors in the UK. The shipment was fast, and cost dramatically lower than purchasing it here in the US, even with duty and shipping.

I did a 10x10 wall with 2 rolls. The lesson to be learned is that if you have a large pattern with a large repeat, you will have alot of scrap trying to match up the pattern. I think I had about a 10-15% loss, when doing my wall, so buy extra if you think you might be cutting it close.

I'm going to be uploading my wallpaper AFTER shot tonight, to the AT cure group on Flickr if you want a peek!

Hello everyone. This should be fun. I've been waiting years to have a place of my own. (moved 7 times in 4 years.) So to be able to pick up a paint brush, and a drill and go nuts on remodeling hasn't been an option until now. So, I have my first condo, a loft in Fulton Market area. It needs alot of work. It was ALL white when I purchased it; A blank canvas. The previous owner didn't change a thing installed by developer in 1997. ( Except he added a strange ceiling fan.) It has alot of quirks and basic fixtures ( contractor's specials). I love the challenge. and I can finally revisit all those TIVO'd HGTV shows. I'm doing it alone, and I am pretty cluttzy, so don't be surprised if I upload a picture of my arm in cast.

I would try a very very blue green. like a sea glass color. (go one shade lighter than your first instinct) Your apartment is has great light, and it will make your red and orange accents pop!

Bright orange pairs great with camel. Warm flannel-y Camel. And sometimes just a hint of a mint bluegreen can really make it pop. Trust me. I own a large bright orange desk. It's a challenge, but can make the room a show stopper.

Love the GUS sofa. I've coveting the same model for about 4 months now. I keep trying to reconcile spending $3K on a piece of furniture. This post has convinced me I probably won't miss the money.

Great color! Not to be a buzzkill but having been in co-habitation situation with man who had a style sense of a circus clown and painted our bathroom a bright olive, I learned quickly that the color of the walls will reflect and effect the look of everything in the room. Including your skintone, which really made it impossible to use the bathroom to apply makeup and as a primp station. So be mindful of where your light sources are, how they reflect on the walls and where and how much green you paint.

Still love the color though. Good luck.

Awesome feedback. I think I'll trek out to Lombard to Dania, and check out some of the other places too. I needed a sofa like yesterday.

The Oregon sectional looks pretty close to what I'm looking for. I hope it comes with more fabric options.. I found the another perfect sofa online, but there are no distributors/sellers in the area where I can test drive it. http://gingkofurniture.com/RebeccaSofa.htm

I'm also in love with this sofa, but I don't think I can swing the price tag. http://www.designpublic.com/shop/gus-design/4755

Anywho.. Thanks a mil.
