We moved in when it was cold and dry, but when summer rolled around, we discovered a mold and bug problem (we live in humid Florida). Gross. Luckily, our landlord is taking care of everything. The mold problem is costing her thousands of dollars to fix!


The Things You Didn't Know When You Moved In

First: Change daughter's diaper and feed her breakfast. COFFEE.

Last: after toddler is down, clear table, wipe table, pick up toys, sweep living and dining room, dishes, wipe down bathroom surfaces while getting ready for bed.

Seems like a lot, but i've got it down to a science. Keeps me sane, since I work from home, too.

I'm with white everything, too. I have a pink/maroon tile bathroom, and made everything else bright white. It really cleaned it up. And you can just bleach the bathmats and shower curtain, non prob.

I'm sorry, but I agree with ryancn and mindfeck. Just use the lighting and white balance of the second photo with the first photo, and I think I would like the first room better. Just needed to put the art on the wall, add a bed frame, and take the mirror out of the window. The second one still looks great, though!

Just a tip... We just moved into an older house with floor air vents, and our air return grill is right in the middle of the hallway, so we put this wood bath mat from Target over it. Much easier on bare feet, and it breathes!

While I was searching for a home to rent in midtown (a high-demand place to live in my city), people were listing their houses and condos "in the heart of midtown" that were at least a mile away from midtown and on the most dangerous streets in the city! It drove me nuts.
