The only thing that looks really useful to me is the bath cabinet. Everything else requires decanting, which imho is NOT a good organizing solution. Sleek & Functional Bathroom Accessories |

I don't like built-ins. When I walk into a room with built-ins, I feel like the room is dictating where I will put my stuff. It even sort of dictates what my stuff will BE. (In my first apartment, there was a wall of built-in drawers, clearly meant for clothes. I didn't have that many clothes, and what clothes I did have, I preferred to store in the closet. So then I was left with all those drawers, which were basically useless to me because I needed file storage. So there I was, with a wall of glorified junk drawers AND a filing cabinet.) I prefer a room to be a blank canvas and NOT try to anticipate (or define) my needs. Organized Rooms by Platt Dana Architects |

Me too. Not only does open shelving cause grime, it also means you have to keep all your dishes and things perfectly stacked, lined-up, and neat, so it won't look like a mess. And even so, all that *stuff* looks cluttery to me. Even More Open Kitchen Shelving Apartment Therapy House Tours |

I don't think using those clear food-container jars is a good idea. It causes extra work. Rather than just putting the product away when you get home, you have to decant the product into the jar, which is going to be a real pain when things get busy. And if the product doesn't all fit in the container, you have to store the original packaging somewhere until it's time to refill. Before & After: A Super Simple Pantry Fix |
