You could make compost tea. It's like homemade liquid miracle-grow for you plants. Maybe bottle some for yourself and sell the rest at your local farmers market or give some to your neighbors? I think re-nest had a how-to on making compost tea earlier this year and there are few instructional videos on youtube

Biggest apologies, Rucy. I really wasn't try to be rude. I know there are many things that could go wrong with telecommuting & unfortunate things happen because of that. I'm just saying that an idea should not be thrown out a window based on fear or failure the first time around- we can't learn that way.

I've worked from home for the past two years and LOVE it. Telecommuting is not for everyone but it's perfect for me! I'm not monitored by my company; I'm just expected to produce certain things by certain times. I probably work 40hrs+ a week but some days I might work 6hrs, some days I work 10. The freedom is priceless so I work extra hard to prove that it's worth something to the company too. What I do involves a high level of trust (*that I had to earn*) so I doubt they would ever outsource my job to another country. Poo-pooing telecommuting based on fear of outsourcing is like saying you shouldn't ride your bike because you might get hit by a car.

Awesome tip, specially since I don't have to buy anything; we have a pair sitting under the sink!

I love that idea too, Lisa! However, I'm scared I do not have the design skills to pull something like that off :). We shall see; I'll definitely post pictures whenever we get them done!
