i was expecting something more than just artfully arranging them on a dish.

i grew up in CA and was used to bringing an emergency supply kit of food to school every year. Now I live in HI, and during the tsunami watch, my husband and I realized how unprepared we were as we stood in a long line at the grocery store purchasing necessities. Needless to say, we are prepared now. I'm keeping everything in a bin outside on our apartment porch within easy reach. Thanks for everyone's suggestions - now I have a few more things I need to add to our emergency kit!

the only way I will put up unframed photos is with magnets on my fridge. I used to do the collage-taped-to-the-wall in my college years, but I prefer frames now.

this looks like such a fun craft! wish i had a reason to do it (like decorating a storefront!)

this is amazing! i grew up having a nice big window seat in my room that i loved to read on. I will have to keep this nook idea in mind when we buy a house someday. awesome idea!

i didn't have a dryer for six months and it worked out ok. I didn't like the inconvenience of not being able to wash-dry-n-wear right away, but I got used to it. Usually if I hung it up before I went to sleep, it would be dry.

For towels, we draped the corners on the short end over a hanger and used clothespins to secure it. Better than draping it over furniture or taking up too much space on the shower rod.
I dry my delicates and on a clothesrack with the fan pointed at it :) fast and easy!
