i grew up in CA and was used to bringing an emergency supply kit of food to school every year. Now I live in HI, and during the tsunami watch, my husband and I realized how unprepared we were as we stood in a long line at the grocery store purchasing necessities. Needless to say, we are prepared now. I'm keeping everything in a bin outside on our apartment porch within easy reach. Thanks for everyone's suggestions - now I have a few more things I need to add to our emergency kit! What To Put in a DIY Disaster Preparedness Kit ready.gov |
