For me it is this: Decllutter the "Studio" donate as much of what I don't want to Goodwill and Salvation Army. Get the carpet clean Reorganized my DVD collection and sale those that I don't want anymore. Transform the bathroom. Have ideas on how to do that which includes fixing the broken towel holder and the nasty warp spot about the tub. Buy a slipcover for the sofa. Was going to buy one but why. Get a new desk and chair for the computer. It needs a new home also some Flor like underneath it all. That is it for my 2010 home resolutions. It is hard to really get your financial footing set when you have people (family and friends) telling you that you should be doing this and that. I live in a studio (for about 5 years) and still drive my older (11) car. I am saving my ass off to get a newer car, put money into my Emergency fund and pay of personal debt. If I had a bigger place that is more money for space, energy, and clutter. I like live within my mean, and hopefully find someone whom likes that I am frugal. I was married before and I move into the studio for temporary reasons. Now I love it and I can't see myself not living here. New Year, New Budget? This is just what I need. I hate it when folks tell you that you need a bedroom and such when you have a studio. I like the open floor plan and the mulit-purpose that one room can function. Instead of a messy bedroom, living room, dining area....I just have one big space to clean and de-clutter. Wish me luck on duplicate and using some of your ideas. I like the way the Ikea stylists decorate. I mean if you want something stark and sterile than Ikea is not the place for you. Design is suppose to be what you like. Some folks like having stuff...that is natural. Others like to live in a museum. Stop knocking what is not for you. Keep on doing what you do Ikea...there are lovers out here who are fans!! It is decent...This is the second issue so it has to get its running feet. I have no probably with it. Eventually there will be others that will take the place of Domino and Blueprint. I like Ty Penningtons mag as well as House Beautiful. Hey, I have an idea... Why do Apartment Therapy come out with a magazine? But I love the format here and its free. Stop knocking them and send in your requests on what you want to see in these home magazines. Not many of us can actually own Ethan Allen or whatever high end stuff. I heart Ikea. I made a trek out there with my then Husband, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't buy right away. I so want my living area to be Ikea-esque. Because it so plain, you can customize it to your liking. I love it when people do different things to Ikea furniture. Love all of the picture. Why are so many salty comments about her living situation and her parents helped her. She maybe an only child or someone left her a big sum of money.
