Is it a good or bad thing that I did not even notice the Obama Hope poster until the comments here made me go back and have another look?

Anyhoo, I love the house. So white and bright and yet it's not stark but warm and full of personal touches. It looks like a family home and not a museum.

Love the French doors, love the living room, would kill for that dining nook.

I love this one. Every bit of it is perfect. I'm voting it for the grand prize. Good luck Juan Pedro.

@Lindley... perhaps, like me, people DID read the owner's remarks and were puzzled as to why, on the one hand she bemoans the lack of a dining room, whereas on the other she uses a space that could serve that purpose, ostensibly to house a dresser. And in doing so, she is blocking half a window. In one of the photos of the bedroom you can see that there is a dresser, albeit a less attractive one.

2bigbike, I have to admire your resolve and it's obviously working for you, but if I couldn't allow myself a few decent cafe lattes during the working week, I'd wonder what I was working so hard for.

Having said that though, yours are good habits to get into if you want to minimise debt, and if I'd done adopted them when I started working I could now afford some nice cake to go with my lattes.

To the writer of the piece... How can something be 3 times smaller? Do you mean to say "1/3rd the size"? Or is this the new mathematics?

The orientation of the rooms in the photos does not match that in the floor plan. Are we looking at a negative (reverse) of the floor plan?

@LovelyMissKatie, I'm normally cautious about strong colours but I love the way you've done yours. I'm also loving the rugs, the office chair, the hardwood floors, the artwork and, of course, your furbabies.

Not a trend that I'll be following. In a bedroom or living room maybe - but dining room? Nope.

I saw the RASKOG cart in an IKEA catalogue but convinced myself I didn't need it. I've since seen one in a little retro cafe and it looks just as good "in real life" as in the photos. It's definitely on the shopping list now.

I'm with you Basil&Bones and jengirldc. As long as the person doing the correcting is not being a total wanker or smartarse, I'm OK with having my grammatical or spelling errors corrected.

Back to the topic of cleaning baseboards - I usually use the soft brush on my vaccuum cleaner to dust them, then a wet soapy cloth to clean any marks. Thanks AT for providing some alternative methods.
