What a lovely thing for a parent to do for such a lovely child. Art is beauty, beauty is art.

It is a great video. I have a two person kitchen with limited counter space but this past Sunday morning I poached and shredded eight chicken breasts, cleaned and cooked arugula and washed lettuce for the week. I also cooked a huge pot of white beans that had soaked overnight and made hummus and soup. The huge crock pot of chili I made will be eaten more than one this week. Practice. That's the thing.

Ah, Donvier! I bought one 25 years ago so our children could have homemade ice cream. We had tons of fun with it. After years of storage in the over-the-fridge-cabinet, the black hole of every home, I pulled it out and had a blast making frozen yogurt. Rock on Donvier.

We have a neighborhood tradition of piling kids, canoes and kayaks in the car and going to the local state park for the day. Throw the leftovers in a cooler and they magically disappear!

They are so not hokey pokey. They are art. And for those of us who are short they are the perfect height and size.As in, my feet touch the floor. I disappear in Pottery Barn Chairs. Too sad. I'm for sizing furniture regular and petite.

One of the nicest fences in my neighborhood is chain link with English ivy growing on it and in the space just in front a neat row of daylilies.

One more: The Microwave Method

Heat 2 quarts of milk (it can be powdered milk, you will not be able to tell the difference) in a glass container in the microwave on high for 8-12 minutes until 190 degrees. Remove and cool to 110 degrees. Stir in 1/4 cup yogurt. Cover with lid. Let sit in the glass container in a warm place, wrapped in towels, for 6 to 8 hours at least. Ta-da! Yogurt! By the way the warm place where I live is outside on the porch, or in the car overnight.
