I don't really care for the zebra in the first photo. I think the rest looks fresh and amazing, but the zebra.....too much.

I totally agree emycv. What is the point? Unless you are a male I guess.

I scored a brass and mirrored vanity tray for $5.00 from my local goodwill store, as well as a small (but perfect for my small apartment) oak vanity from the 60's. I think I paid $20.00 for it. It needs the drawer fixed but it still doesn't stop me from piling my girlie crap atop of its surface. My daughter is often found perusing whatever trinkets and cosmetics may be strewn about. I love watching her apply my lipstick and pucker up as she admires herself in the mirror. Oh, to be young again!

Yeah, it would take my 7 year old about two seconds to knock over the apothecary jars. I do like the glass and metal cabinet however.

Olive is a great neutral that invokes a very earthy feel into a room. It is also a color I love to wear, being a natural brunette with hazel green eyes it compliments me well. The same prinicples must be applied to a room painted in this color. If you have the knack for choosing complimentary and contrasting furniture/decor, then it will look fabulous.

So jealous of the window seat! What an awesome room, cozy fireplace and a spot to curl up with a cup of tea or a favorite book. I wouldn't paint the fireplace. IMHO you should preserve it's originality and tie in other elements to spruce the room up.

I agree with bepsf, I don't have the time or the energy to deal with dusty, greasy dishes. I wouldn't feel comfortable using a dish straight from an open shelf without washing it first. We live a few miles from a racetrack and a Naval base so you can imagine the dust that travels into our apartment. Love the idea, just not practical for me.
