Whatever. I've never gotten sick from eating off hand washed dishes, but I can smell and taste the soap residue that dishwashers always leave on my things and it's way more objectionable to me than the thought of some bacteria clinging to my plates.

I love it as long as it isn't overdone. For instance, I like the example in this article. If someone's house is absolutely stuffed with taxidermy specimens, not so much.
