I agree with Parnassus, except on the settle where I'd switch out that green fabric for something lighter / neutral that will coordinate with the window seat and keep the room light. The rug is v pretty, keep it. Move the chair to another area of the room, change out the linen pillows for something in red/blue that brings it all together. It's a beautiful room, good luck!

I have the 2nd, it works... but the ice cream is very soft. Initially I found this frustrating, I thought it was defective, but have ultimately learned to live with it (ie plan way ahead for freezer time). Next time I'll just go for the model that actually churns out ice cream in 40 mins..

You did a great job making this apt unique and personal. Def an accomplishment considering the pain of nyc cookie cutter apartments. I do not get it, there does not appear to be a single developer here with an original idea. Anyway... curious, are your dining chairs from room and board, too? Also, any chance you can tell us which neighborhood you're moving to? I can only imagine a loft space with brick exists in brooklyn....

Is it me? This is the 3rd or 4th time the banner ads along the right have run directly over the (off center) photos AT posts. Can someone please fix this? Thanks.

I think this place looks great, love the light. Agree with the other posters re high, sheer curtains, and maybe some light colored throw pillows or blankets on the couch to pull it together.

Well this is a tremendous improvement over the before, much more up to date and fresh. I would not have been able to poinpoint it myself but do agree with color 71, there appear to be conflicting styles at work here. Anyhoo, looking forward to pics of the rest of the place! Hopefully in the not too distant future.

I agree with the first 2 posts. Also, switch out that orange rug for something newer, larger.

Short Term Updates for Kitchen Being Reno-ed Next Year? Good Questions

Um... what? I come to AT for design, and a little bit of escapism, not to be reminded of my real world relationship problems. There has to be a much more on topic, on brand way to explore relationships & home than this. I second some of the earlier opinions that AT has changed a lot in the last few years, and I'm having a hard time with the new editorial and even aesthetic direction of a lot of the content.

Hm, interesting... I go for aesthetics and prefer marble. I like my apt very neat but I don't worry too much about germs. I figure they're part of life. The kitchen gets thoroughly cleaned once a week and I wipe down counters in between as needed. Should be enough...

Some of the pink bathrooms on that website are really beautiful. I guess you could roll with it here. I don't even really mind the flooring, it's vintage. Some of the old-fashioned, green wallpapers (also from that site) might look very pretty in here. I agree with you about removing the handlebars though... they stick out in a bad way.

Cool apt. I live in greenwich village too, but have no idea where this building is. What are the x streets?
