I have a fairly new (4 years old) front loading washing machine. The clothes are practically dry when the wash is done. I use two big racks, put socks on the very bottom, then hang stuff starting from the inside on the bottom. I put heavier things on the top. Undergarments get hung over the ends, and so do sweatshirts. I have a big laundry room/bathroom, so the racks are out of the way. It takes a bit of planning to dry indoors on racks. You have to figure a day to dry, so you can't do laundry at the last minute. lol I haven't used a dryer in over 20 years. In good weather, I hang clothes outside, and then the racks let you do an extra load. 8 Tips to Organizing a Drying Rack |

The black and white are high contrast, and the seat balances with the mirror. I think it looks great, especially since so much of the house is white or light. Green Style: A Restored Home Gone Green in Portland |
