I love the challenge of cooking for those with dietary restrictions! The biggest challenge so far has been a dessert spread for my whole family (18 ppl). There were a lot of us with varied restrictions... pregnancy, dairy allergy, nut allergy, gluten intolerance, and diverticulitis. I made a little something for everyone... a fallen chocolate souffle which everyone except the dairy allergy folks could eat, lemon olive-oil cake which everyone could enjoy, and fresh berries with whipped cream and/or coconut milk ice cream.

Definitely the stick and origami... it's the only mobile that is interesting to look at from below... flat circles (and even pinwheels) don't look like much unless viewed from the side.

I'm surprised there haven't been more posts like mine...
My parents moved when I graduated college a decade ago, but they made their new home as inviting and comforting as the one I grew up in. It's home, it's a retreat, and most importantly, it's where my family is.

Oh, and placement- the height at which you've drawn your arrow is good, but for width, extend the rod 6" or so to the outside of the window (probably 3" from the edge of the trim).

When I moved in, we had shutters, roller blinds, and curtains on our windows. Way too much. We took out the blinds and now the shutters and curtains are a perfect combo. Just hang a single curtain rod over the pair of windows with a center support. My preference would be to use 3 or 4 curtain panels so that the break between the 2 windows would be covered (and they will look better when drawn across the windows), but you could get away with using just 2 panels on the ends.

What is the doorway across from the 15' window wall? A closet? Or another door into the bathroom? If it's something you can cover over/block, even temporarily, you would have many more options.

Love these! I'm a big fan of the work of David Klein (see Africa and India)... he also did the illustrations for the Orbitz ad campaign back in 2000. So cool to that they hired the original artist rather than having someone else imitate his style.

It can't hurt to get a quote... Robert Friedensen is a great re-finisher who works in VA but comes to DC weekly. He also has a carpenter friend who could build a 4th chair.
