When I was a kid my mom would often make boiled and mashed carrots and parsnips, just mix them together wth butter and salt. Now my own kids love this dish and will happily have just a bowl of this for dinner. It's especially good with roast chicken and green beans! My friends Geek mother used to make this for us when we were teenagers. So good. She used fresh chicken stock and would serve it with lots of ground, black pepper and cinnamon on top! 5-Ingredient Soup Recipe: Turkey Avgolemono Soup |

Not useful - but in Australia everywhere sells it by the stalk - much better! However, I do buy it here, use 3 stalks in a recipe and eat the rest with cream cheese, in salads/sandwiches and/or throw the rest away. My Celery Dilemma |

I worked at a preschool in Australia that served a cooked lunch everyday. Good for you for doing this for the kiddos - so important. Some of the meals the kids loved were a baked frittata with cheese and peas, served with cold baked beans. Butternut squash soup pureed with carrot and served with sandwiches. Turkey meatloaf with cold carrots, cucumber etc and a dip. The cook would serve the kids a chicken 'curry' or a 'chilli' with a couple of spices like cumin or paprika but no actual spiciness - both with rice. There was always yogurt or tapioca for desert with fresh or tinned fruit. And wholemeal bread and butter with every meal. These meals would come around every couple of weeks. Good luck. I'm from England and Australia where electric kettles are 'the norm'. When we arrived in America a few years ago I was surprised at the limited choice of kettles here - although they are becoming more common. We have had the Breville one for 3 years and it's still going strong. Electric Kettles: Should You Buy One? |

Taupe walls. Longer, thinner, white coffee table. White framed pictures on both walls behind sofa. White arc floor lamp to the left. Bring in cushions with blues and greens to match your rug and counter tops. If that all looks too matchy then maybe throw in another accent color with a couple of cushions and 1 or 2 pictures/objects on walls... bright purple? How To Accessorize Ugly Brown Sectional? Well I'm going to suggest The Valley. Despite it's naff reputation in the 90's it actually a great place to live. I moved here from Australia and work in Sanra Monica and often commute to Hollywood. Burbank, Tolluca Lake and Studio City are all very easy to commute from and have plenty of employment opportunities. Around here it is safe, pretty and has good restaurants, parks, shops, schools etc. Neighborhood Suggestions For Moving To Los Angeles? Good Questions |
