Pumpkin spice cream cheese!
Didn't use actual pumpkin pie spice, but it could definitely be substituted for the spices!

I almost burned down the kitchen when I tried to broil a marshmallow on high. And forgot about it.
Note: Broiling marshmallows on low makes nice, toasty straight-from-the-campfire treats.
Broiling them on high makes a giant, black, smoky mess.

Mashing up a rip banana and adding something else (peanut butter, cocoa, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, fruit, coffee.. you name it!) and then sticking it in a freezer pop mold is also easy and delicious, with less mess!

Five Below had small, battery-powered lanterns last year; we hang a couple from a tree. You can also create cool luminaries by poking holes in a soda can with a thumbtack, then placing a tea light in the bottom. It looks awesome lit up at night!

I made breakfast bread pudding with apple chicken sausage, cheese, and eggs (using up some stale bread!) last night for today's breakfast.
Today I'm going to attempt making pita and felafel for dinner!

In my town, we are only able to recycle #1 and #2 plastics. About a year or two ago, we found that Whole Foods takes #1-#7, and we've been taking all of our other plastics there ever since.
Every time we sort the plastics for their trip to Whole Foods, I'm amazed at how much we would have normally just tossed in the trash!

I just made these, and they were good, but not great--yummy with Kerrygold butter and honey. They don't have a lot of flavor, even though I added about a teaspoon of cinnamon. Next time I might add more sugar and cinnamon. But they made the house smell delicious!

Just made baked sweet potato falafel from 101cookbooks.com with tzatziki, sauteed apples, and pita, so delicious -- and the falafel is gluten-free!

Tomorrow I'm planning on making some of The Kitchn's whole wheat raisin English muffins. And maybe I'll try making some veggie burgers!

I've tried a similar recipe (from Cooking Light, I believe) and they're fantastic!
I'm going to try the Payard recipe right now!

What a delicious start to the morning!
I added chopped bananas, almonds, and chocolate chips to mine.
I think next time I'll add more cocoa powder and espresso because the flavor wasn't strong enough for me.

I didn't have wheat germ on hand, so I used some finely-ground oatmeal. They turned out fine, and of course the dogs loved them! Such a great way to use up bacon fat!

I have a delicious recipe for salmon with ponzu sauce from an old Cooking Light magazine. It also tastes great on shrimp. Both are perfect on a salad in the summertime!

I served this for Christmas this year. It was so yummy! I ground my own hazelnuts for the flour, which was really easy.
I used frozen cranberries without thawing them, and it turned out fine. The only problem I encountered using the frozen cranberries was that I had to rinse them with cold water, so they stuck together. This was annoying when I first put them in syrup, but by the time I assembled the tart they were detached.
The tart is delicious with vanilla ice cream!

These were delicious, but very mushy! When I tried to spoon them out of the slow cooker, some fell apart.
Although they looked messy, they were still very good. I served them with some sour cream. They were a bit too spicy for my taste, so I'll add less chili powder next time!
