Gorgeous! The show wood appears to be in excellent condition. I love seeing unique pieces brought back to life. The older furniture is usually built so much better. You can't go shopping in regular furniture stores and come out with a piece that has such character. Only custom pieces give you that feeling after you have put your stamp on it.

I don't think $400 is an outrageous price for a professional job, especially when tufting and extra supplies are included. In case you missed it, she mentioned new springs and cushions which will raise the price quickly. The craftsman does have to make a living, but I would bet a lot of the cost was in supplies and not labor.

Side and occasional chairs are pretty easy for the novice, but not everyone is comfortable with rebuilding the seat or button tufting. Again, great job on a beautiful piece!
