I have been through many of these trends. Open shelves instead of cabinets when we were too poor for cabinets. Hated it. Butcher block in first house. Do not like that. Too high maintenance and after a while a fissure. Subway tile. Never had it but seems like a classic. Granite countertops, I love mine. I think they too are a classic. If you google canvas wardrobe storage you will see many places offering a wheeled canvas wardrobe closet like thing. This could be ideal if you have the room and need to hang your clothes. Some have a variety of options for storage. You will think these are either cool or hideous depending on your design sensibilities. I could see them fitting in a modern decor or a vintage shabby chic type of design approach. Clothing Storage Suggestions Under $300 (No Ugly Dressers!)? Good Questions |

Most people at least I know do rsvp for the weddings. For other more informal parties you can go evite of paper but keep in mind that some older people do not use computers. Also its easy to delete something but accident thinking its junk. Most smart people say "regrets only" Then if you are coming you do not have to call. I think that is the smart way to go. I would not paint the glass. Rather I would add sheer panels on the outside of the door that are attached to rods on both the top and bottom. You could have plain sheer panels or even lace ones depending on your decor. I have these on my glassed paned door to my screen porch and they supply filtered light but do not block everything. You can do this on your own if you are handy or you can call a drapery company and have them professionally installed. You could also put wooden blinds on the door but it would totally block out the light when closed. Here is a link to what I am talking about. https://www.paulshomefashions.com/frenchvoile_s/3773.htm How Can I Add Privacy to Glass Bathroom Door? Good Questions |

I would not paint it at all. Its a beautiful vintage lamp and all you need to do is to clean it Try cleaning the brass with half a lemon and some salt and a soft cloth. If you want to jazz it up I agree do it with the shade although I think it would be beautiful with a traditional sllk shade. around here there are lamp shops you can take you old lamps to to get rewired and get a new shade. they advise you of the type that fits with your lamp. I never ask anyone to take their shoes off but I would not appreciate it if they tracked mud on my carpet. I used to go shoeless but now that I have arthritis in my feet I cant go barefoot without my feet hurting. elderly people too need supportive shoes and many never go barefoot and cant wear socks or slippers. it wont be worth it to replace the foam. I would add stuffing with upholstery batting, and clean it. It depends on how cheap you can get it and if your basement gets water in it forget it. I would never put it in my basement because if there was any flood it would be impossible to get out. If all you are going to do is have a bunch of kids and dogs jump on it it is fine if you can get it cheap and clean it. 80's Sofa: Take It or Leave It? Good Questions |

Sometimes you can put magnetic closures on inside the cabinets that will allow them to close shut. Its not a perfect solution but it might work. Also use Command hooks to hang things from helps with space utilization. Does she really need both a microwave and a toaster oven? I hardly use my microwave and I could see getting along without it. I would not buy on line. Take the chair to a good upholsterer locally. There should be tons of them in NYC. I'm in Chicago and they are all over here. True its not cheap to get custom work done but there is more a chance they will get it right rather than on line which could be an expensive mistake. Source For Custom Chair Cushions? I think you could add a nice backsplash in to your liking...maybe some kind of tile. Painting the kitchen in a neutral but noticeable color would be nice too. Add accessories and there you have it. It does not need much. What Color Should I Paint Kitchen Cabinets? Good Questions |

Why not use reusable plastic containers instead of bags. That's what I do. Also I do not like frozen cooked meat unless its in a stew, soup, chili or spaghetti sauce as I think it tastes reheated, so those are the only things I freeze except for fresh raw meat.
