The bedroom in photo number three is excellent. The colors are beautiful together, the austerity of the room really works here and that headboard is gorgeous. The before photos are much more appealing. I'm getting awfully bored of the onslaught of white that has been popular for the last several years. The after photos show a room that feels stiff, uninviting, and downright uncomfortable; like being on the set of 2001 Space Odyssey, while the before photos showed imagination and humor. I'll take the old thrift-chic over that overdone new apartment any day. Despite the mix of styles and patterns the old apartment worked, and had a warm, subtle glow. The made-over apartment is just a horror show. Set Design for Sex and The City Movie Traditional Home July 2008 |
