I got a water-saving showerhead BECAUSE I had trickling pressure that made my showers miserable. Now, I have satisfying showers with my Alsons 655CBX Fluidics Water Saving Shower Head, as do my tenants. It only uses 1.6 gallons per minute, almost one gallon less than the standard 2.5.

Dana_C, for what reasons couldn't a photo possibly make it past customs? Just curious.

An Adrian Pearsall sofa priced at around $600 or $700. I actually saw him here on the Scavenger feature. He was somewhere in the Midwest, and I am in NYC. I knew that the distance wouldn't keep me from him, even with the freight shipping prices. He was long (8 feet) and wide enough to sleep on (those pretty boy couches are usually diminutive), upholstered in gray velvet and teak legs. The seller did not let our romance bloom, and sold it to someone locally (totally understand, especially with all those craigslist scammers trying to "pay" remotely). I don't regret it - I fought for him as much as I could.

I also don't think the handbag comparison is viable because in handbag designs, there is a lot of interesting, nice quality merchandise available in the mid-range prices.

And with furniture (in the US, at least. I think there's a lot more variety in Europe's market), from my experience, it's either: Ikea, mid-range like West Elm/CB2/Crate and Barrel, and then you have the unreachable designer and craftsman furniture. What's in between? Crap! A few weeks ago, I looked for stools on a lot of the big furniture websites. I looked through thousands of options, and found 1 or 2 which were merely not butt ugly.
