Every year when this list comes out, I hold my breath and cross my fingers but it just never happens. The Alpha Workshops makes a collection of handpainted wallpapers that are made right here in NYC. I went to the Pollack warehouse sale today and it's really good. Pollack is to the trade only so it's a nice opportunity to get really high quality fabrics for $10-20/yard. If you're in the market for reupholstery or curtains or anything like that, it's a good stop.

I second the thought about Ravelry, the ultimate source on all things knitted. You do have to wait a few days for an invite to join (yes, there are THAT many knitters in the world) but tons of info.

Years and years ago we tried to move one of those soft chairs that unfolded into a mattress on the top of the car. It kept sliding around and we literally had to try to hold it while we drove. Never done that again.

I can always tell when I'm depressed by the colors of clothes I wear. Depressed=black, gray, neutrals. Happy=green, red, purple and anything bright. This wardrobe is sure to get me back in a depressed state.

And I agree that what I wear is part of how I express myself. And seeing sweaters in different colors and textures or a shirt with an unusual print gives me pleasure. You could make a similar list for your apartment and it would be similarly depressing and I don't think it would be featured here.

Also, there's ONE sweater on this list. If I wore the same sweater all winter, my friends would start asking if I need money.
