i'm with you on the plastic food bags, microwave, coffee maker, and garbage disposal, but not so much on the others.

what do you suggest instead of trash bags? and i'm with the others on the hairdryer, only because living in chicago requires that your hair is dry before you start your commute during the winter months.

really, grating cheese takes too much time? i made martha stewart's mac-n-cheese earlier this week and grated heaps of cheese in just a few minutes with my oxo microplane box grater.

we use cloth at home for all meals - inside and out, guests or no guests, breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

i also got my office mates cloth napkins and a cheap set of utensils for xmas. they didn't really understand it, though :(

we recently tried mrs meyer and our dishes came out dirtier than ever. it went to the back of the undersink cabinet in case we ever run out. palmolive eco has worked well for us (no vinegar required).

i've been finding the that tablets (we've tried method and cascade) seem to work better than powder or liquid -- anyone else out there with the same results?

i seriously {heart} grilled fruits for dessert. i'll take grilled pineapple straight up, but i do like to drizzle honey or balsamic on grilled stone fruits. :)

we reuse the few bags that we do use to the extent possible. however, my husband, who happens to be our "dish bitch" *loathes* the idea, let alone the practice, so i have to step in and wash the bags for reuse. i find that chopsticks in a pint glass (i.e., wide opening) works far better than something like the narrow neck of a beer bottle.

last xmas, i bought myself a plate, bowl, and two cloth napkins to have in the office to add to my collection of two mugs (which go rather unused), a 1L cup for water, and a selection of inexpensive silverware.

then i got the bright idea to buy my department-mates each a nice cloth napkin (and each one different from the next) and a fork, spoon, and knife for their desk drawers. it was a hit!
