i would suggest slip covers for the chairs, ones that go to the floor. it will really make the chairs look different and more expensive. it will also add excitement to the pine table. i would also suggest a large piece of art. what i have done for cheap art is taking a large frame from ikea and adding wall paper/wrapping paper underneath. it looks really awesome and you can change it often for very cheap. maybe some sort of thin buffet table that fits on the blank large wall. you can add decor items, pictures or flowers.

it definitely makes most sense for the bed to be in that alcove. while in a studio it is super hard to really make your bedroom private with lack of walls; having it in that corner farthest away from anything almost makes it private.

if your table is small enough i think its best to go right next to the kitchen, beside the bathroom door. that way its an obvious kitchen area and it doesnt seem like your eating in your bedroom. maybe not right up against the wall but whatever works best.

the couch would work almost in the centre of the room facing the 22 foot wall where your tv could sit. if you get a slightly low back couch and a slightly high tv stand (i wouldnt suggest mounting it because, you are renting and who knows if you can, also the cables will be hanging down the wall and most importantly its over 100$ for a wall mount which you cant enjoy like as super awesome media cabinet with tons of storage) and you can definitely see the tv from your bed.

if your low book shelf is skinny enough i would put it near the front door. that way you can still use it for books and such but it can also be a landing area for your keys and what not.

keep the brick white and paint the stove black or paint the brick charcoal gray and paint the stove black. either way the stove totally needs to be black.

if you like to mix up colours and textures to a room then i suggest going for the circular table. it will switch it up from the rectangle couch, tv, windows and bookcase. if you add a round vase with flowers to the coffee table it will compliment it nicely. also adding books and magazines on top wont make it as boring as square on square on square.

i have mine organized in many different ways. i have all my black book covers from tallest to smallest, then all my coloured ones on a different shelf from tallest to smallest and all my magazines or large card copy books are stacked. i think i might try completely colour coating them once i have a lot more books. my collection is slacking.

you can rent tools from any hardware store but that would probably cost a pretty penny.
i would suggest looking for those peel and stick wall hooks you can put on doors or walls without fear of ripping paint/putting holes in your walls. or in your case, crumbling the concrete in your building. they're normally used to hold coats, towels or what have you. im sure you can get them in all sorts of shapes and sizes and then hang a curtain rod from them.

this also might work IF the wall that is painted has dry wall over it. if its pure concrete than this is a no go.... i have done this before. i found a sheet, a funky patterned one from any fabric store or right off your own bed and i used tacks to pin it to the wall. voila.
