All are cool as long as they belong to contemporary art museum, not in someone's living room.

magnets of any kind on the fridge door

"keep calm..."poster

big posters of Monet, Picasso, and Dali...classic artists. Get something that reflect your true personal taste. Those artists have made masterpieces, they belong to museums.

spice rack and knife rack on the kitchen counter

Those bottles with oil and some herbs stuffed inside...I have never seen anyone use it, I always wonder how long they are sitting there. World Market should stop selling them.

last words: FAKE PLANTS!

The only thing I didn't mind buying was the canister.
They sompletely sold out on those in Chicago.
I might buy them at the Salvation Army or Goodwill...they have a lot of cast-offs from Target for nothing. But I still won't buy plastic plates regardless.

I used to live in Japan.
The sink you do your grooming is located right outside of the bathroom, where the place is strictly for bathing and showering, and the bathroom and the sink room (I'll just call it a "sink room") are divided by a glass door.
Most apartments have "all in one" bathrooms like here in the U.S., but most houses in Japan have separate "sink room" and the "rest room"
Japanese people, on the other hand, need some time to get used to the idea of Western bathrooms because where you do your business and washing hands afterward and brushing your teeth are located in the same space.
Oh, and in Japan, water is quite expensive. They will do anything to conserve water, so sink&toilet-tank-in-one might is a great idea. But I am with you about the ivory bowl and the tank.

I always had this stereotype that gay guys have impeccable taste in design and such, but I am actually delighted to see the exception right here.
And I didn't even know Michael was gay.

I used to love Design Guys---the one with two Canadian guys.
I love modern, sleek, cool tone design than colorful feminine design.
The show ended long ago...I am still in search for a show like that.

I love the way it is...maybe light barely there tan color.
The drapery on the window is catching my eyes everytime I see it. It looks too shiny and luxurious. I would switch to a natural material in the same color or a little bit lighter.

A place like this, I can buy all kinds of goodies without worrying about the storage space!
Then I will decorate every room with different theme; space age, victorian, mid-century, Rococco...

Great article.

Use self check out...
No matter how busy they are, there are not too many people at the self check out. I never spend more than 5 min. waiting.

There seem to be a lot of DIY assemble savvy people shopping there, but a lot of them like the good 'ol fashion cash register.I wonder why...

The very first time I saw was probably earlier last year on Real Simple or Blueprint(R.I.P!)...and then see more and more everywhere later that year.
I am surprised to see that mamy people who need a reminder to keep calm.
It's almost like seeing "Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn’t look good either" sign or "If you are grouchy, irritable...(you know the rest)" in someone's cubicle or next to a cash register:It's no longer funny because it's EVERYWHERE.
I rather display a bumper sticker on a wall...no I won't.

The first half of the slideshow, I was holding breath because of the overpowering of the wall color and all, the second half I was breathing much easier...
I absolutely love the white wall with a little bit of Asian decor here and there.
Lovely home!

It looks like a model house of condo...
No personal touch, just a whole bunch of brand new stuff mixed together. Too many knickknacks. I know it's in transition, but it this place does not need any more stuff.

Those posts are becoming more about "parenting style of others" rather than "decorating style of others"...How sad.
What's the difference between those folks who let their kids scribble on the couch and parents who paint the wall with blackboard paint? I don't see much difference. I can't see myself do it but cool idea.

I know some people from middleeast or southeast asia keep a pet bottle handy by the toilet and wash themselves after...you know...
I thought it was environmentaly friendly, but then we still have to consume water.
Which is a greener solution??

I like the idea but not as a product.
This is something you make in your garage.
Why those recycled stuff always so expensive?
It's a kid's craft or child labor(whichever you would like to call).

There is no way you can miss the bathroom picture.
Not the staring-the-floor picture.
I love the stairs. I love the credenza and the way you displayed the Catherine Holm bowl *droll* with other things.

Seems very uncomfortable to lean over the desk...
I love your place though!
