So somehow ended up making the wedding cake for my friend, who requested lemon-poppy seed with lemon curd between the layers. Truth be told, was intimidated by the thought of making the curd, and I am a lover of simplicity, so while the above looks doable, have to say the following was truly fool-proof http://www.earthboundchronicles.com/2010/07/05/how-to-make-lemon-curd-in-6-simple-steps/ Am also a fan of minimal dishes as I did this all in my enamel cast iron on the stovetop. Was a total win :) How to Make Easy Homemade Lemon Curd Cooking Lessons from the Kitchn |

Have to agree with JENND0718 for placement of the bed, it's tucked away behind the closets. Though you may have to give up the idea of a side table. Living/Bedroom in Curved Studio? Good Questions |

So turned out my local grocery store didn't have anaheim peppers, so on impulse substituted with about 10 jalapeño peppers and a sweet red pepper. Which albeit changed it from verde to rojo, but stayed delicious. And spicy. Was a bit nervous when I saw the milk curdling in the sauce (also lacked buttermilk and Suero de Sal is a distant dream), but after about 30 minutes on a gentle heat it ended up smooth, rich, and beautiful. The rest was a cake walk, and my dinner guests (returning friends from a long climbing trip) were very happy campers :) Authentic Mexican Recipe: Enchiladas Verdes Guest Post from Yvette Marquez-Sharpnack of Muy Bueno Cookbook |

started to read, and then was distracted by the pancakes...mmm...and then back to reading. Single minded and littleness of soul as a closing statement? Monsieur Myers, that is rather sad. What is single minded in exercising our senses, even challenging them, and then having the opportunity to share so easily with those around us? Of course there will be those that go to the extremes, but I believe for the rest of us foodies, a love of good food is another facet of our love of life. Are Foodies Single-Minded? |
