Why wait around for the TV stations to get their head out of their arse when you can just hit up bit torrent sites?

You'd have to be a fool not to get an original Zune when they are blowing them out at places like woot.com for $90! 30 GB, color screen and updates to basically make it a second gen Zune. Why pay more for an iPod??!?!?! And anyone serious about sound wouldn't stick their mp3 player in one of those docking stations, they'd hook up to their stereo using line level inputs....(if they consider mp3 "hi-fi" enough).

Lizzy C, according to the article, "they ended up with a $216,000 loan from another bank, which barely covered construction costs". And that "a real estate agent has since put the value of the house at about $375,000", so I'd guess they spent around $250-275k, possibly more.

Why not just go digital and store them all on a few TB's of disk space? Easier to search and on demand access!

I wouldn't call this a media server. Just a new fangled carousel.

$3500 buys plenty of hard drives!

B&O seems like over priced fluff to me. Why not get something like a Harmony or Pronto?

Yea, the whole reason compact fluorescent bulbs are more efficient is because they don't waste so much electricity as heat. So I think you'd be fine with something like a 2 or 3 watt compact fluorescent (which is similar to a 40 or 60 watt incandescent).

RE: slot-loading

Really? I've had slot loading cd players in the car and they've always treated my media fine. Are slot loading optical drives any different?

Anne,

If you use a wireless router to connect, you should be able to access its interface with a web browser and there should be a section where you can view clients connected wirelessly. If you only have one wireless computer and there is more than one client.......

If it were me (I'm not sure how large the couch is) I'd have the couch perpedicular the the fireplace, floating in the middle of the room, facing the 9ft4 wall. Put the TV on or against that wall and put the chairs facing the fireplace. That way you keep the left side with all the doors free for traffic. Then use the space behind the couch with the angled walls for something else, maybe more conversational type seating or reading nook or office or something. Of course this all depends on the size of your furniture.....

This has to do with controlling light spill. You do want your screen to be white or sometimes silver but you want the space around that to soak up light rather than reflect it. Helps the picture to be more vibrant.

I think patrick has it spot on, if that's the way you decide to go. One problem might be the lower perpendicular support that runs around the legs. It may end up too close to the floor depending on how much you lop off.....
My votes for dumping them and getting new chairs.

Having your center channel inside that cabinet is probably a little detrimental to the sound as the wooden grates are blocking it.

Also, have you never had an issue with the Roku Soundbridge bouncing off the subwoofer?
