I don't believe a tension rod will be able to support draperies; a valance, perhaps, but not draperies or curtains. I think it could work, however, if you hung sheers using rings- something that would make it easy to slide open and closed. How long do you plan on staying? That may define the investment you want to put into this. Roman shades or similar would be pretty. Do a little leg work and ask the pros (window covering places) what they would recommend this way you can make an informed decision. I love a the light that must stream through those windows. I can't believe all the attention bars on the windows is getting. Your place looks very inviting and as many have commented- I too would sure love to know the colors you used throughout the home. I agree with David in saying that to repaint is probably just as cost effective as purchasing items to jazz up the room. If you don't like a dark room, all the accessories in the world won't make you like it. However, grey can be very elegant. My daughter's room is charcoal grey with a soft yellow comforter and a lilac pillow, and a deep grey pillow. It's georgeous. Pops of color (not necessarily all white) will keep the room from being gloomy and remember to keep the room simple-- no clutter. Improve Dark Gray Room without Repainting? Good Questions |

I'm not a furniture designer nor do I normally like contemporary pieces, but I am intrigued by this table. "Bang your shins","spill your coffee"--people, please!! Nook Coffee Table by Dave Pickett Design Showcase 2011 |

Love it! I've made a couple of baby quilts using this pattern and they were phenomenal. Building blocks in tonal or like -saturated color themes are much easier on the eyes than when there is a strong contrast. Very nice. Trend Watch: The Tumbling Block Pattern Roundup |
