has anyone ever done an ODDA bed frame hack and made it cool? Love Ikea for their prices but that is almost ugly.

As a military wife we move every 3 years. We don't live on bases so its up to us to meet people and the other military families aren't always an option. Next month we move for the 4th time and I have to say that I'm not a pro but meeting friends isnt what I'm dreading about this move. I moved to Charleston 3 years ago and I have to say that I have never had such a large group of girlfriends in my life. I have more friends here than I have at home. First I had the dog - I walked her constantly. I introduced myself to everyone. I had people over to my house. Now I have a child so we are still out at parks and playgrounds. Get out there and make an effort. I'm looking forward to my next friend challenge.

While its not exactly a Photo a Day I do have a Flickr account for each year of my child's life. Its a lot of fun and great for the families that are very far away to keep up with how Nolan is growing. I try to take pictures at least weekly and then on big events (holidays, trips etc) there are more pictures uploaded. I am SO glad I did it. I signed up for my Flickr Pro account the day after my son was born.

I work from home full time but have my son with me part of the time. When he's up I am downstairs with the computer in the kitchen on the counter (I wish I had a breakfast bar) so he cant pull out the plug. When he goes to the babysitter's I move upstairs either in my office or to my upstairs porch and work outside. Most of the time I forget to go upstairs and realize I'm standing next to my kitchen sink doing work all day. ahhh - working from home with children!

OMG my sisters have word signs all over their houses. One has three signs - "simplify", "simplicity", and "Simple Life". With her overstuffed furniture with cup holders. Kill me now. I also cant stand rooms that you cant sit in and relax. I guess I cant talk much about design considering my downstairs is filled with three baby gates. sigh.

Wipes warmer and bottle sterilizer were the two things that I never should have asked for/bought. The swing was also never used but you never know if #2 might like it.

I am all about buying at consignment stores - we got this old pink (used to be red) push car and then spray painted it and the baby loves his new bright red car. used is the way to go! I wish I knew that before I registered for so much stuff but at least as he grows we know not to buy too much brand new. That goes for clothes too!

My recliner/ rocking chair is amazing. I use it every night to rock him to sleep and before naps too. The bouncy chair was a must have for me for the first 3 months. It allowed me to shower and he loved that thing- until he started rolling out if it. We have a dresser with a changing pad on top and its great. He sleeps in his crib. I had nightmares of rolling on top of him when he was in our room in the bassinet after I nursed him. It was a whole new world when we put him in his own room. I finally slept and he also slept much better. Everyone is different but for us the first 3 months pretty much sucked and that bouncy chair saved all of our lives.

love this! What a beautiful idea. I've been wondering what to do with all my great pins now that I don't have a winter coat (moved to the hot, hot South).

We sent packages to each family with little booties in it and individual notes. We skyped with my family so we got to see them open the box and read the notes carefully. It was very cute. Our Christmas gifts were from then-on called the "baby box" on both sides of the family.
