It hasn't been mentioned here, but another correlation to this decline is probably the near extinction of households using hired help on a daily basis. It was not uncommon for a middle class family to have a maid who helped with chores and in the kitchen. I know that when we get together with friends, none of us have the time to spend the whole day cooking and when guests arrive, we would rather be socializing than serving.

I have to nominate the entertainment armoire.

I remember how much I wanted one 15 years ago when my husband and I were first married. Now I am see them all over craigslist for $100-200 or even free.

Coupons are great if you buy a lot of branded, processed food, but we eat mostly fresh fruit and vegetables. Plus, I would rather pay more and have more time with my family than spend so much time shopping and organizing coupons. Life is too short!

Oh Apartment Therapy, how I love you, but you just don't love me! How on earth can a mother of four (three of which are growing HUNGRY boys) ever aspire to this kind of minimalist organization. Really, I shop at Costco people!

Oh well. The idea is great for single people. Nice work!
