Thanks everyone! the frosting recipe is the 7 minute frosting recipe from Martha Stewart! It's very marshmallowy and very sweet!

we bought a wooden travel crib, which is a mini size crib, on craigslist for 20 bucks when our third child grew out of the (mini) cosleeper. He's eight months now and still fits fine, but I don't think it will last until he's two. I love it. The regular sized cribs are just so huge. This one folds down to nothing.

Elsie here (actually my name is meg, but my blog's name is elsiemarley, so I understand the confusion). I had no idea there were such strong opinions out there about rug placement. We have two toddlers, so putting the rug directly under the table would just mean disaster (or constant washing).
To answer some questions:
1. the sisal (or jute, I thought it was jute) rug came from Ikea also and it might stain, but you sure can't see it.
2. the yellow rug(s) can be washed in the washing machine, which is why I got them in the first place.
3. It's just for summer.
4. I didn't take these pictures as "before and after" shots. The first one was taken two years ago.
5. The yellow rugs were actually 10 bucks a piece.

I got two more striped runners while I was at Ikea and put them in the living room. You can see them here. Thanks for all the feedback! I wasn't contacted before this post, so it was quite a surprise to see my house on apartment therapy.

I'm curious about the expandable/extenable beds at Ikea. They seem like a good idea in theory, but do they actually work in practice?
